Director of Winchester News Online

For the last few months I have been writing about what I had been doing as director of Winol. I have decided to make a little film to show what exactly my role was but also to let you can come in to our little production environment and feel the atmosphere, the adrenaline as well as see how much fun, loyalty, teamwork and friendship we shared in the Gallery last term. Hope you enjoy!

  1. Hi Justi This is very interesting and indeed conveys the responsibilities of the director and also the need to work closely as a team. It is a record well worth keeping for the CV. As a non multi-tasker it amazes me, how you keep it all together. Well done and keep the bulletins coming next year.
There is a fantastic news story right now re Rupert Murdoch's news paper 'team' and the invasive hacking done by their reporters/journalists over many years. I am so glad about this coming into the open as one of our famous authors said many years ago that if someone would give him a gun he would personally shoot Murdoch. His last play 'Cold Lazarus' written just before his death is on the subject of the media and such a man and life taken over by all the technologies of that time, so imagine the progress since then. His name was Dennis Potter, undoubtedly a genius of his time, and he wanted to leave a world controlled by the Rupert Murdochs of the future where the only kind of reality would be virtual. Murdoch is still here and we have not needed anyone other, since he controls and owns such a majority of the media. I hope Murdoch's empire fails and that a new beginning comes about.
Moral codes do not seem to count at all in the thirst for stories and indeed it occurs to me that there is a sort of anaethetic effect of seeing and reading about the horrors of people's stories so much that they move us less, empathy is lost?
Anyway, hope things are working out, love ever Cait XXX
